Scope of Works

• Apex acted as PC throughout the entirety of the demolition & earthworks operation. This involed submitting licenses to the council and the production of CDM, TMP plans etc.
• All licensed & non-licensed asbestos was stripped from the former office block in line with R&D survey provided
• The structure was completely stripped back to structural frame to maximise recyclability of materials on site once demolition commenced
• A full scaffold & monarflex design was installed on the front elevation to mitigate risk to the public
• Extensive scaffold beam work was installed to bridge over the live substation and the neighbouring properties car park
• The mansard asbestos roof was stripped by hand with use of our scissor lifts and CAT B operatives
• Mechanical demolition with high reach excavators using a range of attachments including breakers, rotating sheers and munchers
• All associated slabs were broken out and foundations grubbed out to a depth of 2.5m
• All external hardstandings were pinned and broke out ready for crushing
• All demolition materials were crushed to 6f2 and stockpiled on site for reuse
• The reduce level dig exercise ran concurrently with the crushing operation to maximise use of time and provide client betterment on programme
• Unforeseen areas of asbestos contamination in the ground were remediated in-house and caused no delay on programme
• A 650mm 6f2 piling mat was installed with terram T1000 and geogrid
